If there were a one size fit all formula for anything, there'd be no debating anything. Nuance would be null. Perspective non-existent. We might be all Stepford Wives like, cookie cutter carbon cutout cardboard creatures creating more of the same, and we wouldn't even know there is another way, because everything would resemble beige and khaki from all angles, no variety.
You get the point.
There is no one-way to create. If there were a formula that worked every time for every person, there would be no need for teachers and different courses.
You can create the way that feels important to you. You can take what you learn and what inspires you and formulate it into what resonates in every cell. Follow that feeling. You can ignore any and every thing people tell you to do and still follow what feels right to you.
What happens so often when people try to follow a formula, they do so without the passion, the umph that lends itself to kick-ass work. That formula may have been created in total passion by someone else, but it may not be the right mix for you and that's okay. You may have yet to discover the blend that lights you up so completely and totally. And, you’ll know it when it does—it’s magical, effortless. That formula may also shift over time and that's a beautiful place to be.
So, don't worry so much about how you get there. Follow your creative impulses. That is your fire formula. The impulses may pan out. They may not, but the more you follow what feels right to you, the more turned on to what you're here to do and become.
You're a creator.
You are a writer on your own terms, not the way the everyone else feels you should be.
