Remember when you were a kid and you rode your bike for hours or you sat in the dirt making mudpies and watching the roly poly bugs curl up and unfurl? Damn awesome, right?
Do more of that.
There is enough time to just be and do what you want. Your to do list isn't going anywhere (unless your to do list makes you happy, of course—I know it feels good to be productive). Sit in bed for hours reading and writing or Netflixing or staring out the window or petting your cat or texting with friends or all of the above.
Take an aimless drive. Blast the music. Sing loudly.
Take a walk on the beach no matter the weather. Look at the ocean for hours.
Play with kids in the dirt. Learn from them, so you remember what it's like.
Just be happy and do more stuff that makes your heart sing.
That's what makes a good life. It doesn't have to be fancy. It can be as fancy as you like. It doesn't matter. If you hear yourself saying, "I really shouldn't..." Chances are you really wanna, so do it. Too many useless rules that suck the joy out of so much.
Joy is available to you now. It is a conscious and deliberate choice. Allow more space for happiness. Fuel it.
Happy writing and happy, happy!
