Happy Daylight Savings Time! If you are like me, a happy go lucky morning person who can get going no matter what it looks like outside, you probably have an easy time with losing an hour of sleep and waking up like a vampire. If you are anything like my children, well you may have cried and yelled this morning when asked to get out of bed and get dressed. Donuts cure that. Trust me.
When this shift first happens and Monday appears (or any Monday for that matter), it can feel like a bit of dread, but I am here to beg you to reshape your perspective about what a Monday can be. Perhaps I've said this before—I know I've thought it, Monday is a day of renewal, of new ideas. It's a big opportunity to get back on track—everyday is like that, but Monday gets the bad rap, because we are on the heels of the weekend when we were probably relaxing fully and doing very little to nothing, but… Let's wake up on Mondays and say yes! I get to start off this week with my most positive attitude! Yes! I get to drink an extra cup of coffee! Yes! I get to listen to my iPod on my commute. Yes! I get to come back home later and relax. Envision a very rockin’ day, rather than the apprehension of “have to”. Shift your thinking to “I get to”. Wake up and decide it's going to be awesome! That way, you can handle and tackle anything.
Happy Monday—you beautiful day of renewal!
P. S. It's almost spring! Can you feel it? I can. Yes!
