This is the love letter I'd write if...
You were next to me reading or writing on the sand or you were frolicking in the ocean, splashing around and laughing. I'd gaze in wonder and write about the way you wave your arms when you're talking in excitement or the beautiful way you say an “ummm” in between thoughts, gathering the next perfectly delivered anecdote that captivates an audience.
I'd write about the way you tug your ear when thinking, and I would praise your passion and know that when you say, "that's interesting", it's a cue you're about to follow your hunch.
I'd write about how I catch you looking at me when you think I'm busy, and I pretend, because nothing is more perfect than when love radiates from you unaware.
I'd write that I know we are connected and that even though being right next to you is a beauty unparalleled, that my own well being comes first. I love me more than I love you, and I love you perfectly, divinely, without caution.
I am me.
You are you.
Together we are still those people who share that with one another. I love you as you are—no control, no molding into anything else.
I love you. I will write you all of this and more when you are here.
